 Families Matter Ministry

 Sunday Services 10 AM:

At the Muskegon Vineyard, children stay in the sanctuary during worship.

A Note from  Jon and Erin

We are very excited about the potential of the Families Matter Ministry and the positive outcome it can have on many families. Families Matter goes beyond the typical "kids church" and goes straight into the homes and families of our kids. This ministry that God has laid on our heart was specifically designed by Him in order to strengthen our families in this church, and in our community. In a time and age when we see families crumbling all around us, God is calling his people to be different and remain strong in our faith. This ministry is to support and build those kinds of people, starting with our families. We hope that you not only support us in this ministry, but also be blessed by it in your own family!

Thanks for the opprtunity to serve your family!

    Why the logo?

The answer to that is very simple.
We decided on the "Paper Doll" family for a couple of reasons.
First of all, it is a great representation of the modern family. It is exciting, unique, but all too fragile. We, in the Families Matter Ministry, are excited about the possibilities that God is giving us to work with families, helping them to strengthen what they have and the Love that God has placed within them (whether they realize it or not). Secondly, this picture is a great reminder of how great God can make our family. On our paper  family looks like anyone else, but the shadow that a family can cast in this world far eclipses what they look like on the outside. It reminds us that God can make us something bigger than we really are. Finally, we love the imagery of a family united together. Our world reeks of individualism and selfishness, but a family boasts of unity, unselfishness, working together and a spiritual order.

Well Child Policy

If your child is exhibiting any of the following symptoms and it is impossible to keep him home, please keep him with you at church. Kids' Ministry volunteers are authorized to turn away ill children for the sake of other children and caregivers present.

The following symptoms can indicate a contagious illness:

  • temperature over 99 degrees within the last 24 hours
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea or abnormally loose stools
  • any undiagnosed rash other than mild heat rash or common diaper rash
  • unusual tiredness, pale complexion, irritability or restlessness
  • nasal discharge that is yellow or green in color
  • a congested or wet cough - one that produces yellow or green discharge
  • an eye infection (draining)
  • a fresh cold or signs of coming down with one (colds are most contagious the first day)

If your child comes down with a contagious condition (such as chicken pox, measles, pin worms, lice, etc.) and was in the nursery just before or at the onset of the illness, please call the church and let us know. Parents will be notified if their children may have been exposed to a contagious illness. When a child is getting over an illness, please call the Kids Ministry Director for guidelines to determine when he/she is well enough to return to the nursery. To ensure cleanliness, we regularly disinfect all toys and furniture in the children's room. Teachers are also equipped with hand sanitizer, rubber gloves, and disinfectant wipes for properly addressing spills, messes, and other "mistakes".

Kids Church Discipline Policy

If any type of problem arises during the time your child is in kids church, you will be notified immediately. The black box in the sanctuary will flash your family number and you should respond immediately by coming to the Family Matters Room

Volunteers and Teachers will not punish your child in any way.
